iCloud - Change ID on the iPad deletes account?

I need to change the iCloud ID on my iPad. Looks like I need to hit the "delete acoount" button under iCloud preferences to do this, but will this kill my whole iCloud account, or just remove it form the iPad??

No, it will only delete the account from the iPad.

Thanks. That's what I figured, but wanted to be sure, with iCloud being new and all.
