How exactly does the Trash work?

Is there just a folder action attached to the .trash directory? I was hoping to change some of the text in the contextual menu that appears on a control+click on the trash, but wasn't sure if it was even possible.

I believe that info is built in to the finder. It's probably in a localization file and would be fairly easy to change.

OK, I did a quick search with grep, and it is located in this file:

/System/Library/CoreServices/Finder.app/Contents/Resources/English.lproj/Menus.nib/objects.xib
