"Jamband" moe. plays a song on iPads at concert

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WzVhVJaKexk

The song is called "Crab Eyes", but this version is dubbed "CRABi".

This is the second time they've done this, each at a festival. The first time was over Memorial Day weekend at a festival called summercamp. The second was this past Labor Day weekend at their own festival called moe.down.

What do you think?

Caveat:

Die hard fans of this band are not really fans of this song to begin with and especially not the "crabi" version.

Nice. I'm sure it didn't sound as good as real instruments while there but sounds great on youtube.

Macworld story:

Says the audio is one take, live, but the video is from a few takes. Lots of cameras so makes sense.

Haha, like I said, even fans of the band don't particularly enjoy the song. Kind of cool they can do that though. They are real musicians and never incorporate laptops and whatnot into shows, so it was kind of surprising.

Cool that you posted this. I was going to post about it after I saw it originally, but couldn't find a good video then. moe. is by far my favorite band and I watched this live streaming via the net the night they did it and was pretty amazed. Too bad it's a terrible mix, and I hope they choose a better song in the future.
