How do I increase font size when using Firefox?

I use Firefox as my browser on my Macbook pro. The text on the internet is so tiny, I have trouble reading it. I increased font size in Firefox preferences, but it makes no difference at all.
Any suggestions?

Thank you!

Command + will increase the font size.
Need DropBox? Let's both get some free space: http://db.tt/fgml86fY
