Making an icon from a PSD file
Hi all, I'm trying to create a Mac OS X compatible high res icon for my printer that I can use instead of the generic.
I've created a 128 x 128 pixel photoshop file with a high res transparent photo of the printer inside. I'm not sure how to change this into an icon. Can anyone help me out? Here's the file, http://homepages.inf.ed.ac.uk/s0346776/hp1010.psd

I've used a Photoshop plugin from a company called Kinetic Creations. It's shareware (10 free tries) so if you're only wanting it for an icon or two, it's a good thing. You just drop it in your plugin folder in Photoshop, restart Photoshop if it's open, and you go to File, Export, Export Icon. As easy as that!

There's also IconBuilder – another Photoshop plug-in that'll convert your file into an icon.
