iPhone 4s. Diagnostics logs. Lots of low memory errors
Have any of you guys checked your diagnostic logs under
Settings -- - about--- diagnostic and usage data --- diagnostics and usage data ..??? I can pretty much guarantee you will have lots of entries in there for "low memory" ? Maybe this is linked to the battery drain we are all seeing. Something running in the background causing it to eat up all the memory. Have a look and let me know ... |

Good find. I have logging turned off (EDIT: woops, I just have the "automatically send to apple" turned off; I have no logs otherwise) on my phone currently but intend to turn it back on for this experiment. Can you tell specifically what is complaining of low memory errors? Also I just had an epiphany: anyone with the iPhone Configuration Utility happen to take a peek at the console to see if there's anything... abnormal? Cheers!

I do not think this indicates a problem.
As the previous poster said, it is just the OS being signaled to purge previously opened programs. |

Got a ton here. Guess they should've given it a gig. My battery life seems a little better than my 4's though (this one's meter on this seems to follow a more linear scale though. It'll last a while at the low percentage points while my 4 was as good as dead at 10%)

LowMemory logs are nothing new
The LowMemory* logs have been there for ages (before iOS 5) on your PC/Mac (see http://developer.apple.com/library/i...51/_index.html under Acquiring Crash Reports). iOS seems to mostly keep free physical RAM very low... maybe too low.
I created a shortcut long ago pointing to the above dir on my PC because I'm curious about the logs and I usually sync w/my PC daily or more. |
