Apps take up quarter of screen space after jailbreak!

I have just jailbroken my iPhone 4 on iOS 5 using redsn0w.
Afterwards, the home screen is fine but when I open an app the info takes a quarter of the screen and the rest is black.
Is there any way I can fix this without restoring?
