Is there a way to do a custom gesture like swipe up or circle to do the home button functionality. Seems like currently there is none

I would jailbreak it once untethered jailbreak is available and use Activator to use gesture to mimic the home button.

N njgeek macrumors regular Oct 23, 2011 #10 I, like many here, have owned at least one of each iPhone to hit the market. My 3GS, 4, and 4S all look and run fine and have had their home buttons pounded like a cheerlea--well never mind that. The home button can take your abuse.
