"2 items could not be synced"

trying to sync 2 purchased ring tones to 4S.
i keep getting a message on the iphone saying "2 items could not be synced, check itunes for info".

except on checking itunes there is no info to suggest why they haven't been synced. they sync OK to the iphone 4 i have.

any ideas?
