Back on topic though, as a wireless rep for Rogers, I don't get as many of this "problem" any more compared to a year or two ago. I do, however, get lots of people complaining that they can't hear anyone because the earpiece doesn't work. Then I take off the plastic piece Apple puts on the screen, and it's working perfectly! lol That film really blocks a lot of sound.

Yes. All speakers turn on during music playback.

Calls, only ear turn on (turning on speaker phone allows you to activate both speakers during a phone call)

During phone calls, you can play music, it is only heard by you since it is in the speaker in your ear and not through the mic at the bottom.

Not all of use were "lucky" enough to be "graced" with AT&T as our carrier and thus, the iPhone 4S is our first iPhone.

With that said, I do understand that reading the FAQs would answer this question. I thought the same thing at first, but a simple search often yields wonderful results.

Be easy on the OP, message boards and forums will always be filled with repeat questions or ones that can be answered with a simple search.

I'm going to admit, reading this thread made me extremely happy. I dropped my 4 on concrete a while back, which I thought had broken the, er, speaker. Nice to know that my resale value will not plummet when I sell it in a month.

I've had it ten months (my first iPhone) and only noticed when I put my thumb over the speaker while playing music.
Annoyingly it still sounds better than my iPad mini. Which is tinny!

No, it doesn't, unless you count the earpiece as a 'speaker'. Get your facts straight and get over yourself.
