![]() Back on topic though, as a wireless rep for Rogers, I don't get as many of this "problem" any more compared to a year or two ago. I do, however, get lots of people complaining that they can't hear anyone because the earpiece doesn't work. Then I take off the plastic piece Apple puts on the screen, and it's working perfectly! lol That film really blocks a lot of sound.

Calls, only ear turn on (turning on speaker phone allows you to activate both speakers during a phone call) During phone calls, you can play music, it is only heard by you since it is in the speaker in your ear and not through the mic at the bottom.

With that said, I do understand that reading the FAQs would answer this question. I thought the same thing at first, but a simple search often yields wonderful results. Be easy on the OP, message boards and forums will always be filled with repeat questions or ones that can be answered with a simple search. Just comes with the package..

Amount of fail is just astonishing. |

Not everyone knows this! Seems obvious, but I guess not to some! (which is ok)

Like I just mentioned on another thread on the same subject ( oops) . Whether or not it's a stupid question, some people don't really care that much to check and see if it has been answered elsewhere a hundred times before. It's not the most important thing in their lives first - to check first to see if they'll offend some of the hardened ol timer nerds. Chill out people and get some fresh air....

The joke is on everybody who has taken the time to reply except for the first person who replied... I guess that includes me. We've all wasted precious seconds/minutes of our lives :P

I'm going to admit, reading this thread made me extremely happy. I dropped my 4 on concrete a while back, which I thought had broken the, er, speaker. Nice to know that my resale value will not plummet when I sell it in a month.

I'm so glad I found this thread before I took it back to Apple!
I've had it ten months (my first iPhone) and only noticed when I put my thumb over the speaker while playing music. Annoyingly it still sounds better than my iPad mini. Which is tinny!

You do realize that iPhone 4 has 2 speakers. Don't you? This is a perfectly legitimate question. I find it rather amusing than you are all so quick to jump and prove your superiority in terms of technology, but don't even understand the basics kind, human interaction. Yup, it's a speaker and a mic now, but it hasn't always been like that. Get over yourselves.
