I did a clean install of Tiger, apps and all updates. I updated Java to 5.0. Then one of the programs that I use has documented problems with Java 5, so I deleted it off of my system. Now Java apps in Safari do not work, but they work with fire fox. I imagine I need do delete a plist or reinstall java 2.x.

Thanks in advance

A few ideas ...

Check your /Library/Internet Plug-Ins directory and make sure that all of them are there.

How did you uninstall Java 5? Maybe rerunning the installer will give an uninstall option?

Maybe you could find Java on the Tiger install disk and reinstall it from there?

That's all I can think of at the moment ...
