iTunes missing option to play music from iPod to computer

When iTunes 10 came out, a connected iPhone had it's music available to play though the computer. You just went to the iPhone in the sidebar, then music, then play. The songs were no longer grayed out

This is no longer the case, as it seems it is once again, no longer possible to play music from your iPhone to your computer.

Not sure if this is a Lion thing, or iOS5 thing, or iPhone 4S thing?
Anyone have any thoughts on this?
