I use my old iphone as an itouch for the kids and don't want to completely wipe it. Is there a way to get it to stop getting my new texts (really iMessages) without completely restoring it. I was able to to kill my mail account and still download games I buy on the new iphone for free on this phone by having my apple id on it. thank you.

Hi, I'm new to the conversation and have a quick question. Currently, my old phone is getting the same text messages that I'm getting on my new phone...but I don't have the old phone in my possession. If I disable iMessage from my new phone, will my old phone stop getting the texts?

If that doesn't work, what will?
