I was watching a vid on how the macbook pro 15" was able to use 2 thunderbolt displays, but the thing was it was hooked up through the thunderbolt cable.

I was wondering if there was a way to use possibly 2 Dell ultrasharp monitors instead even though they do not contain a thunderbolt or mini display port connectivity.

You want to attach two Dell Ultrasharp monitors to your 21.5 iMac?
Doable.
Does your Mac have a thunderbolt port, or mini-displayport?
Either way, you will need to daisy-chain; and no, other connectivity options (VGA/DVI) will not work.
