Looking for some verification about one of those cash for iphone website, the http://www.iphoneantidote.com . I think it is legit, but I haven’t used them yet and was wondering if anyone else had. Pretty sure they are fairly new, but they are also paying the best prices (that I have found), although they only buy the Verizon and att iPhone 4 (no earlier models). But at $300 for my used iPhone (in good condition) it beats Gazelle and HelloTotem by quite a bit ($229, and $165 respectively). Any word? I’ve used websites like this before to sell old laptops so I am not particularly sketched out about them, but it would be great to hear if someone on the forum has used this actual site. Thanks!

The #1 complaint about these services is that you assess the condition of your item, they quote a price, you send it in, then they contact you and say the item isn't of good enough quality to get the quoted price - and offer you less. You either have to take the offer, or wait a couple weeks to get your phone back. It's not truly quality issues, it's just the normal practice for these businesses. ESPECIALLY the ones that offer the highest prices up-front.

I'm not a gambler, but it's such a sure thing that I'd put $50 on the table that once you send your phone in, you'll be offered at least 30% less than the quoted price.

Registrant address appears to be a residential address per Google Maps, Googling the registrant email gives this person http://www.linkedin.com/in/ryanwistingwallace

This certainly doesn't seem as sketchy as some I've seen, given that the site/registrant doesn't seem to be hiding behind P.O. boxes or such, but I'd probably sell via craigslist rather than go with a website which I had any questions about.

Nice work. And ditto about Craigslist.

OP, if it means anything to you, my wife and I sold our iPhone 4s via Craigslist for $400 each a few months ago (before the 4S was announced). That being the case and if it is indeed in good condition as you stated, I'd imagine you could get $300 for it now via private sale.

Very nice work indeed deeddawg. I have actually used this website when i sold my iphone 4 (oddly enough the prices were $25 less then). Everything worked fine when I used them, I just printed out the label from their website and shipped it via USPS.

They did actually knock down the price a little after receiving my iphone, but I also claimed my used iphone was new (when it was used). So I suppose that is warranted (they just brought it down to the "used" price they had listed on the website, since it was actually a used phone). Overall I'd say it worked out pretty good, and since I always feel a lil sketchy about meeting up on CL and I dont have much feedback (none as a seller) on ebay, it worked pretty good for me.

hope it helps a bit

I recently used recellular.com to sell my 4. The only complaint I had was that getting the check took a little longer than I expected. I shipped to them about 4-5 days after launch day for the 4s and just got my check two days ago.

I was pleasantly surprised that they didn't try to say my phone wasn't in the condition I rated it. My quote was $286 (32gig, black) and I got a check for $291. No explination for the additional $5.

I had it on Craigslist for 3-4 days @ $350, but I only got people asking what my bottom line was or Nigerian scammers.

Thanks a bunch everybody! Think I will go with them, but I'll make sure to post if anything bad happens!

I've sold a couple phones to celltradein.com out of Chicago. They're an actual business with an office. I didn't get into Paypal till recently, but I've usually opted for the paper check.

Oh and they pay the PayPal fee

Thanks johnparjr and blevins321 but it looks like http://www.newtonshead.com has a significantly worse payout for selling my iphone (only $183) and http://www.celltradein.com also only will pay $191.25. I already shipped mine in to iphone antidote so well see how long it takes for the payout to be processed. I emailed them and they said it should be pretty fast (sent it in yesterday and said they should receive it by Tuesday or Wednesday and have the deposit in my PayPal by Thursday at the latest!). They were very fast to reply to emails as well, which eased my concerns a little bit.

check out the website topdollarcell.com. I sold my iphone to them. They had the best price and offered higher than gazelle and other websites. A lot better than ebay and craigslist also because you don't have to deal with creepy people, and fees. The price you get for the phones, may be the price you get offered to end your contract. You may even make money. I also talked to one of their reps during the transaction and they stated that the only time that they change their quote is if something was totally off. I sell my stuff to them now and don't deal with the rip off companies like gazelle.

Don't do it. Most are scams. You will not get even close to what is quoted.

Have you been scammed before? It worked out completely fine when I did it through iphone antidote and I know it worked out fine for me as well on a different cash for laptops type of website. I have also heard great things about gazelle but they tend to pay quite a bit less as well
