Apple Campus Rep Position

I recently had a couple interviews for this position at my university.

I don't even know if i have the job yet, but I am curious and want information from those who have done it recently or who just got hired for 2012!

For me it started off by applying on Apple's Website and i answered some questions and put my resume in there. I got an email a few days ago that said we would like to interview you and ask you more questions etc... please select an hour time slot when we can call you. So I did. My (hopefully soon to be boss) called me from Cupertino and interviewed me with typical questions such as, why do you want to be a rep? What do you bring to the program? How would you handle a difficult situation since you'd be on you're own? Etc... So i think that went okay, she said that someone would contact me within a few business days to set up another interview.

I got an email later that night from a regional Apple HiED rep. I called him the following day and he interviewed me on a more personal level and asked me University specific questions, such as what groups i'm in and do i have good relationships with the faculty on campus etc... I thought this interview went really well. He told me that he doesn't make the decision and the Boss in Cupertino does, however he gives her his input. He also said he did not know when the final decision would be made...

So here i am waiting and really hoping i get the job.

This is for those of you thinking about being an Apple Campus Rep. Good luck! And if you have more questions you can ask, I also hope there are past Reps on here that can provide more info!

Thanks!

also, everyone asks what perks do you get and what not. I know you get a free macbook pro to do your job, also you get paid around 10 bucks an hour and work 15 hours a week.

Thanks for the info. I actually just got an interview too. Is there anything else you could tell me about how the first and second interview so that I can better prep for it? Definitely sounds like a fun experience.
Hope you got a call back!

It's a pretty fun job. The only advice I can give you is show your passion for Apple as much as possible. Don't lie, they see right through that, but they can sense if you just have the passion for the products. That's how I got hired. When I did my interview, my boss said she interviewed person after person who just talked, but when she asked me about my iPad, I immediately pulled it out and started demoing my textbooks and apps with enthusiasm. Se later told me that's what got me the position.

Anyway, if you do get hired, you get a free trip to Cupertino for training, the Macbook Pro, some shirts and a jacket. It's a pretty sweet job.

I was just hired as the Campus Representstive and I was wondering if you still get to go to Cuprtino for training for this upcoming term? Also, what kind of MacBook Pro do you receive for the position? I'm very excited to get started although I have no real inkling of the workload required.

I had my interviews in December. When do people usually hear back? I feel like I probably didnt get the job. I thought my interviews were great though but my school is very competitive.

I think: This is a position that takes energy, enthusiasm, commitment, and passion. It takes an understanding of technology and the ability to spread the Apple message. It takes a leader ó someone who can inspire peers, collaborate with campus organizations, and get things done. This is more than just a college job. Itís a chance to grow, and to get your resume off to an incredible start.

Hey guys so I'm interested in doing this on my campus and I'm very involved in campus organizations so I think it would be easy but I might be transferring after the summer semester and if that happens can I still keep the computer ? Also does anyone know details about how many/ what types if assignments you have to do in order to keep the computer?
