Somewhere in Europe
I checked which screen I got on my Macbook Air the other day and I got this:

B116XW05 V6
Color LCD

I think the screen is excellent and I love it. But that is not a Samsung nor LG, right?

Is there a reason why Apple uses 3 different brands for their screens?

Takes time to make a part, if one company can't make all 1000000 in time then you get 2-3 companies that can make all 1000000 in time

Hi, currently I do not own a Macbook Air. I own a Dell Studio 17inch laptop which I have upgraded screen on twice.

I would purchase a Macbook Air tomorrow if the screen was good quality.

Although I cannot find the exact specification of the screen posted by the Op, I can find an earlier version here: http://www.yslcd.com.tw/Product.aspx?&&ProdCode=B116XW05+V.1

Interestingly you can see there is an Anti Glare available also: http://www.yslcd.com.tw/Default.aspx?&&Brand=AUO

I was wondering has anyone tried upgrading their Macbook Air screens?

I have never heard of anybody replacing the screen on a MBA with another one. To be honest, there no point; the screens are terrific imo.

Looks like you're going to buy a macbook air tomorrow if you are a man of your word.
The screen is brilliant.

The matte screen on the Macbook Pro is similar quality to my Dell M6600 AUO anti-glare screen. The Macbook Air screen is poor in comparison unfortunately. Do a comparison in store or something to appreciate the quality difference, it is a lot.
