After I re-calibrated my 4S battery. I am now getting something approaching what I had on the 4.

When I say re-calibrate, I mean go the whole hog allow your 4S to shut down due to lack of power.

Charge back to 100% and leave it on charge an extra hour.

Then use as normal....It certainly worked for me.

I like these threads because they always lack so much information.

When you say Dramatic Boost, I don't know what that means.

  • What was your battery like before?
  • What is it like now?
  • Did you change your daily usage? (play more or less games?, made more or less calls? etc...)

In another thread. Same usage, same things off same things on.

Prior to calibration I was getting about 7-8 hours before the battery dropped to 10%

After calibration (and one day's normal use) The battery display's 99%

Happy?

Am I reading this right. You're using your phone the whole day and you're saying at the end of the day it's at 99%?!

Clarification

Am I reading this right. You're using your phone the whole day and you're saying at the end of the day it's at 99%?!

1 day's normal usage after re-calibration=99% left in the battery. It's on all day.

Nothing to due with screen or any other changes. Just a recal.

I find it really hard to believe that your phone only went down 1% after a full day.

lol 99%? are you ocuppying macrumors?

Why On Earth

You haven't really posted any proof.

Would I lie? I'm too busy to take screenshots etc. What's the point of posting a bunch of C***?

I post only for the information of others. Having tried re-charging @ 10% and still getting lousy battery life, I followed :apple: instructions and did the full calibration.

As I said, so far a dramatic improvement, but it's early day's.

Well I Can Assure You

Its a possibility.

That I have better things to do. With your "Trust Nobody" attitude, why be here at all?

Some people😡

And battery now shows 91% Hmmm. Might not be such a great fix, but we will see.

My point is that you have yet to provide any evidence to back-up your claim of Dramatic Boost.

Prior to calibration I was getting about 7-8 hours before the battery dropped to 10%

After calibration (and one day's normal use) The battery display's 99%

I'm still baffled by what this means? Before you were getting 7-8 hours battery life on your iPhone 4S, but after you calibrated the battery your usage is now 99%?

Not Exactly

When I charged the phone at the 10% point (when it reminds you) I charged to 100% and in normal use got 7-8 hours before the 10% point was reached.

The re-calibration was done on Tuesday, and since then the battery seems to be holding a better charge.

Having said that, I just took a ten minute call and it dropped from 98% to 91% 7% per call? It doesn't bode well, but only time will tell.

Neither

Yup yup 😀

2 short calls later, and I'm now back in the same boat....now reads 79% It won't last the day.

Are Apple going to fix this? I carry my 4 around with me fully charged, just a sim swap.

But it shouldn't be like this.

Will they make it work? Or have they just loaded it with too much?

A State Of The Art

Phone with less than a day's worth of battery life? I like the features, but I'm seriously thinking about returning it.

Back in the day, the old batteries had more go in them...Okay I know they were running less stuff.

It's not good enough. And no folks, I didn't lie or mislead you, just hoped I had cracked it.

I havent.🙁
