Is this really a good card? Everywhere I go on the net I see things like, "This card is blazing fast!" Does this mean it will be as good as a 128 agp card like the 9600xt? Just don't want to get a card that is like the FX 5200.

The 9200 is old and nowhere as good as even the 9600XT. Of course, what matters most is what you need in a GPU. It may be perfectly suitable for what you need it for. Also, if you are looking to do anything involving intensive gpu use you may wish to consider upgrading to a computer with AGP graphics. :)

The Ati Radeon 9200 is a old card and is not the same caliber as the 9600XT.
I would recommend a 9600XT or better (ie 9800 series!).

macofalltrades.com has the Geforce 4 ti 128 mb agp card for 175, but I've seen the prices change over the past week. I'm not sure how that card stacks up, but I think it's somewhere between a 9600 xt and a 9800 pro in terms of power.

Among other things it is not AGP 8x...

If ever you want dirt on GPUs, read Tom's Hardware Guide.

The 9200 isn't worth bothering with. The Ti4200 is a great little card - and there were AGPx8 versions - but it's missing shaders necessary for new stuff. The lowest you should be looking at for reasonable performance is a 9600, preferably a 9800. If you just want Tigercandy but no games, an NVidia 5200 will be fine.

Edit.. yes, I realise THG is PC-centric, but the relative performance when real numbers are set aside is still very relevant.
