When booting to Lion, my mac hangs.

Immediately after "DSMOS has arrive" it says "NVEthernet Status - Not Active" and hangs...

What could this possibly be? How can I remedy without a complete reinstall?

What make and model of Mac do you have? I'm guessing you have one with NVidia integrated graphics, based solely on the NVEthernet mentioned.

Try booting in Single-User mode and do a disk repair via fsck.

OK so what is the command that would perform just what I need? fsck -y?

Repairing disk does no good.

It's a MacBook Pro 13" with the Nvidia 9400m.
