Ok so I have wifi on, printer set up for Bonjour, but nothing shows in the Print & Scan windows.

I have not connected to the router, I was trying for a direct wireless connection so to speak.

If I do have to connect to the router wirelessly then I just keep Ethernet at the top of the list to keep that as primary right?

thanks

Right there
I think you will need to connect the printer to your router over wifi, the Mini can connect to the router with either wifi or ethernet. I'm pretty sure both have to connect to the router. Or use USB direct to the Mini.

I'm manually downloading the Canon printer drivers now. We'll see if having that in the system will then recognize the printer.

It sort of worked.

It recognizes the printer but only for its scanner function.

Ideas?

edit:
I tried to add the printer profile manually (which is the same as what showed automatically) and this time it gave me the option to add it as a printer (in addition to 'as a scanner')

go figure lol
