Time Machine: "The backup was not performed because an error occurred..."

I've never had any problems with time machine until yesterday :/ Now this message keeps coming up every time it tries to back up.

I have no idea why.

Did you follow the instruction to repair your disk?

I don't know what to do to fix it. I've never used Disk Utility before 😱

1. Launch Disk Utility, located in your /Applications/Utilities folder
2. Click on your external drive on the left column
3. Click "Repair Disk" in the lower right corner

Thanks 🙂 For some reason it wouldn't repair so I just erased everything and started again 🙂
