Yes. OReilly provides ePubs without DRM that work in iBooks.

If you look through a few links on their website, you can download it as an ePub file, which is the same as what iBooks uses. You simply add the file into iTunes, sync with your device, and it should show up in the Books section of iBooks

What is David Pogue's cut on the selling price since he authored some of these?

Just do it!

I got the one for lion a while back (full price) VERY worth it!!!

The Mac has so many features that I didnt even know about.. features I would have been willing to pay money for!! From the small short cuts to the big WOW things. This is like getting a bunch of amazing "new" features for the Mac!! Awesome buy.

If you have an iPad I reccomend using it on that. you can take notes or highlight sections and refer back to them quickly in ibooks.

David Pogue's books are very helpful and very informative. They go into a lot of detail without getting too technical
I just wish there was an ebook version for my Kindle.
There is:

http://www.amazon.com/Mac-OS-Lion-Mi...4669391&sr=8-1

$15.29 at Amazon.

OReilly also supplies DRM free .mobi format books that can be sideloaded on Kindles. With the current sale that book would be $13.99.

Not discounted thru iBooks

Shame, as I'd rather buy it that way...

I think they are discounted, 16.99 for the lion book, 11.99 for the others (I think.) Still, not as good as direct, but I guess it's because apple takes 30% of in app sales.

I recall that part of the agreement was rumored to be that you had to sell books on the ibook store at the same price as the kindle store, but they are not doing it in this case.

I read a few pages of the Mac OS X Lion guide using Amazon "Look Inside" feature. The book seems well written and illustrated. It covers topics like iCloud and Mission Control. Looks like a keeper.

I have the Tiger one...yeah, they're a keeper. There's nothing else out there on the OS I've found.

However, Darwin does have man pages. (BSD)

I purchased both the Missing Manual for iPad (sale price $9.99) and Kindle Fire: Out of the Box (sale price $1.49). Both are very good so far.
