iPod Any way to play FLAC on nano 6th Gen?

I just recieved the new nano 6th gen from recall of the first nano.

I'm happy about everything aside from it not playing flac and a lower quality sound chip compared to cowon or sandisk.

I was wondering if there is ANY some sort of way for me to transfer my FLAC files to the ipod? I mean 8gb is a decent amount for a few FLAC files that I can listen to while running.

Just use ALAC? You can use Max to convert FLAC to ALAC while retaining tags.

Hasn't ever been supported, I think. Convert them and be on your merry way.

True, however, RockBox (installable on the 1st gen nano) can play FLACs (I guess this may be the reason for the OP's question).

I would recommend using xACT (which is much more recent than Max) to convert the files into Apple Lossless (ALAC) : http://xact.scottcbrown.org/.

Agree with previous post. Definitely go with xAct. It's well designed software with thoughtful details.
