Using some benchmarks from toms hardware on the i7 SB-E chips I have got the following, assuming my 2009 MP 2.66 is worth £1200 as it stands.
So any 2009/2010 MP owners might actually be worth getting a W3680 instead of a SB-E!
The Portal 2 benchmark is assuming 6870 performance in the form of a 7770.
Prices are using HE store and are assuming they will be equal to what the current SP range is.
Leaning towards the W3680 as an upgrade, along with whatever GPU is released with the 2012MP and 16GB of 1333MHz ram, to make up for the fact I'm going from 4 to 3 channels.
To turn times into scores I did 1/(Benchmark time in seconds) so quicker = faster.
The basic premise is that the W3680 is a bargain, comparatively, anyway...
