Downgrade iPhoto 09

Good evening, I've upgraded my Mac Mini late '06 (Core Duo Model) to Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and iLife 11 from Tiger 10.4. I'm enjoying all of the iLife apps except iPhoto wich runs extremetly slow! on my Mac mini. My question is: Can I downgrade to iPhoto 08 (I have the DVD's) or iPhoto 09 while keeping the other apps on the '11 version? and what about my photo library?
