Do silicone/gel/plastic bumpers and cases offer THAT much protection?
How well do silicone/gel/plastic cases hold up against drops?

Apple bumper and not one scratch on my phone

In another thread asking about the bumper I posted a link to this video:
It is a drop test in youtube. The iPhone/bumper did not break from normal heights.
The video is sponsored by an insurance company, so I expected the phone to break on the first fall.

Bumpers do work. I dropped my 4S on the pavement and all that was damaged was the bumper that got a big dodgy on one of the corners with no damage what so ever to the phone itself.
