Unhappy Hotspot Shield driving me INSANE WITH ADVERTISEMENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HELP!! I am desperate. Ever since I installed Hotspot Shield (~30 minutes ago) I have been getting these ads on the top of my browser. I put the Hotspot Shield .app in my trash, I quit the service in Activity Monitor, I deleted every file I could find in the Library/Preferences folder - and even on the whole computer that might have something to do with it but there are still ads up there!!!! Sorry for being hysterical but I feel horrible and helpless because I just switched from a PC and on Windows I would have known what to do and everything and on Mac I'm just lost... help please!

P.S. By the way, the ads only seem to be appearing on Google search pages.

So what do I do???

Have you tried restarting the browser? And the computer itself?

The application should have had an uninstaller in the folder it came with (you might have to download again to get it); did you run it?

It sets up a VPN so you probably have to go to your Network preference pane and get rid of it. And make sure you go back to the method you previously used to connect to the internet. And then I'd reset Safari just to be sure.

The most effective method for complete app removal is manual deletion:
Best way to FULLY DELETE a program
