PM G5 2.3 is scratching cd/dvd's!

Every disc I put in to copy/install/burn has a similar scratch on them after ejection! They still read but this is't cool.

is there a way to adjust the drive some how myself? I can't afford to be with out this thing right now!

Any suggestions other than taking it in for repairs?
