I just got a Verizon iPhone 4S 16GB model in Black yesterday, and I noticed when I set it down it rattles near the camera lens. It is a minor annoyance, but was wondering if there is any internal hardware damage and should I replace it? It doesn't seem to have issues otherwise I just want to make sure that there won't be problems down the line. Thanks!

There are well over a dozen threads on this. It's perfectly normal, and yes to some with OCD its annoying.

This is normal. It is the auto-focus lens. Most if not all iPhone 3Gs, 4, and 4S models do this.
