I've manually managed my 160GB iPod Classic on my old PC for a while... Long story short, my PC is fried and I bought a new MacBook Pro.

I'm worried that when I plug my iPod into the new MacBook, iTunes will try and sync and therefore delete all of my music.

Does anybody know if this will happen?

So if I had the "manually manage music" checked on my old PC, I should be good then, right?

Even if you were manually managing music, iTunes may try to sync/setup/associate your "new to it" iPod. It won't happen automatically. You'll see a prompt saying this iPod isn't set up/associated with this computer/iTunes and you'll be asked if you want to set it up. Just make sure to say no to any attempt by iTunes to sync/setup/associate your iPod with it.

Then it's just a matter of extracting your music off the iPod with one of the listed programs.
