iPhone 5 camera spots/smudges

Hi guys, just taking some photos earlier and noticed these smudge spotty things appearing on all of my photos and a weird tiny purple line. Does anyone know what this is? And is there anything I can do about it other than take it in to Apple?

No, its something in the lens itself. My son's i5 had it, and we went into the Apple Store/Genius Bar. The Genius said its a known issue, and they replace it on the spot, no questions...

Is it something that appears after regular use? or would it be something that has been there since day one? I'm asking because I've had my iPhone 5 since November and just noticed a smudge/mark on my photos yesterday. I'm wondering if it's always been (doubtful) or if it came out of nowhere.

Did they say why or how it happens? I'm just reading around and some people have said that dropping the phone can dislodge the lens which then allows dust in.

Sorry for the delay, been off of here for a bit. It does just happen. My son's had his since release, and it was fine until about a month ago. Took it to Apple Genius, and he said he'd try to clean it but it happens and it's a known issue...
