I need some help.

I've been using Airport Express with an Epson Stylus Photo 750 printing from 2 Macs on 10.3.9. It worked fine up till a few days ago.

Now, when I try to print, nothing happens. It's like AE can't 'talk' to my printer anymore.

The only thing I can think that has changed is that I recently downloaded the latest 'security update'.

Is that what has 'broken' my AE printing?

Does anyone know a fix? Your help is greatly appreciated.

Er, OK. I deleted my printer in the Printer Setup Utility. Now what do I do to add it back in?

When I click Add Printer, I'm presented with a scrolling menu with Rendezvous, Ip Printing, USB, Epson USB, Epson TCP/IP etc. However when I choose any of those on the list no printer name presents itself in the main box, so I have no choice but to then click 'Cancel' (as the Add button isn't highlighted).

🙁

Help!

Sounds like the Express isn't registering your printer is attached. Try resetting it (firstly by unplugging printer from Express, turning off Express and then reconnecting and turning back on again). Then see if you can see your printer under Rendez-vous/Bonjour.

If that doesn't work, you might need to try hard resetting the Express (check the Apple knowledgebase - under Support on apple.com) for instructions.

*small yelp of joy*

OK, I got my printer registered again by resetting as you suggested *many thanks!*

Then the printer just started printing pages and pages of a few lines of gobbledygook....er, I've tried turning it off and back on again, and the gobbledygook continues. It's gone mental.....help again??

Oh, and I re-installed the printer driver a few times, and now even when I connect directly from my PB to the printer via USB cable, nothing happens.

Any ideas?

OK... check the print queue is empty? This is where you might want to delete and re-add it incase there are old garbled print requests still sitting in your system.

I'd suggest - delete printer, restart Mac, find printer again, give it a go...

*ooh another minor victory*

I have got it printing again from direct USB cable link. I now have 2 Epson Stylus Photos listed in the Printer List of the Printer Setup Utility (huh???).

And it still won't print from Airport Express. Grrrrr. Help??

Applespider - thanks a lot for all your help so far. I owe you a drinkie 🙂
