DVD(have permissions) to quicktime movie

Hi all...

i did a search and could not find a topic regarding this issue:

I recently worked with a director, and created a soundtrack to a movie she was working on. I asked for a copy on cd (just a quicktime version) but she made a DVD video instead. This is great, however i would like to make a quicktime movie out of the DVD so i can post a short clip of it on my website for me electronic portfolio.

Currently i only have the basic video software that comes bundled with macs (imovie, dvd player and quicktime). Is there any way to do this with my current software or is there any freeware/software that i could use??

Thanks in advance..

-cameron

Handbrake is excellent. You can find it at http://www.versiontracker.com

It's a bit slow, so I'd let 'er go overnight and you should have the DVD into a format you want by morning. Also be sure to minimize the window when it's running...for some reason that makes it go a whole lot faster.

good luck.

Thanks JDOG, it worked great. Slow, but great.

Thanks again.
