Help. Macbook Air Has frozen start up screen

Nothing yet, very unsure of what to do, not sure what caused this or how to fix this since it won't allow me to do anything, it is just a frozen screen
Do you mean, all the steps I linked to bring you to the same screen?
You did hold down the power button to shut down the Mac to perform the steps I linked to?
The ? folder means the HDD is dead, damaged, and/or missing. But since it is an Air I will say it has died.
Hold down the power button to shutdown the laptop.
Then restart holding down the option key and see if you get an option to select the "Macintosh HDD".
