iphone 4 app to sleep phone? sleep button not working

Hi Guys. does anyone know of app available in the app store to sleep an iphone 4? The sleep button is broken and I just wanna be able to put the damn thing into sleep/stand by. It's not jailbroken either so needs to be a true app.

Oh and it's out of warranty so Mr Apple doesn't want to fix it.
 
Not seen anything like that: I think it's the sort of system service that Apple doesn't let 3rd party apps mess with. You could always set auto-lock to the shortest time possible (1min I think, sorry not got my phone to hand right now). Not quite what you asked for but maybe a usable workaround?
 
Yeah thanks, I had already set it to the shortest - a minute. Still a real PITA. You wouldn't believe how much you miss the sleep button till you've lost it!
