i originally had a icore5 early 2011 macbook pro 13inch with 4 gb ram

ive just recently upgrade to a icore7 late 2011 macbook pro 13inch with 8 gb ram

they both have the same intel3000 graphics chip and i even think the icore7 model has 512mb ram instead of 384mb

the video performance of the icore7 i remarkably worse than the icore5 model... like it seems very jerky... does anybody know why this is happening...

its has the same problem in both Lion & Snow Leopard although SL performs slightly better...

the icore7 is in general running faster than my old icore 5 model its just the graphics problem that is bugging me.

Graphics are *exactly* the same. the Intel 3000 uses shared memory and will use 384mb with 4gb of ram and 512 with 8gb. Stays at 512 beyond 8gb of memory in case you think 16gb will get you more :)

You read wrong. My late 2011 13" sitting here has 16gb of memory and shows 512 graphics memory.
