iPad 2 VPN issue

Im having issues connecting my jailbroken iOS5 iPad 2 WiFi to my home vpn. My jailbroken iOS5 iPhone 4 connects to the VPN just fine. My friends jailbroken iOS5 iPad 2 wifi connects with no problem as well.

My iPad connects for seconds then disconnects and says "ipad you were disconnected by the ppp server"

Oddly it will connect if I tether my iPhone to my iPad then it works just fine but 3G tethering isnt fast enough for my liking.
