streaming TV programs

Hi, I'm trying to stream a TV program on Vidxden. It won't play because it says I'm missing a plug-in. I already have perian & VLC installed on my macbook pro so I'm puzzled. I've opened VLC player but not sure what I need to do next. I also have adobe flash installed & wondered if this might be somehow interfering. All step by step help appreciated. Thanks
