How much will Apple give me for an iPad 1 + 3G?

I have an iPad 1 + 3G 16GB in pretty good condition. It became slow after I upgraded to iOS5, so I'm a little concerned to sell it on eBay. Do you know if Apple has a buy-back or trade in program? If so, how much do you think they will give me for it? I'm looking to buy the newly released iPad.

They don't buy back. Best bet would be eBay or craigslist

If you don't want to ebay or Craigslist it then there are a few online options:

http://www.gazelle.com/ipad

Apple does not "buy back" products.

Is Gazelle legit? I am reading things online about them not giving you what their quote says. For my iPad, they the quote is $130, which seems like a good deal...don't want to be ripped off in the process.

Edit: I keep reading horror stories from Gazelle - I'll get more money off eBay anyway...

I used Best Buy's trade in program last year with good results--nearly $700 in BB gift card for a 4 year old MacBook (basic model with plastic case, not a MBP). Looks like you could get $100-$135 depending on its condition, as long as you don't mind getting a BB gift card.

Apple do a recycling program, you can get a rough guide on price here:

http://www.apple.com/recycling/

I've never used it so I don't know if its any good.

Never knew they did that. Just completed the questions on my iPad 2 and in perfect condition 16GB WiFi only they'll give me $270.

They'll give $200 for your iPad 1 in perfect condition w/ the power cord

You'll get more on ebay or craigslist

A quick browse of ebay's recently completed listings for his model show he can get up to $275 - $300. Despite what you think, people apparently do want an iPad 1 16GB.

That's very surprising! I have an iPad 1 3G 64GB. I'd sell it but giving it to my mom.

Apple will give you $0 for your iPad1 3G. They will end up recycling it. You will however have the satisfaction that you did not contribute to the destruction of the planet.... as much....
