How do I re-install iPhoto 9.2.2 in Snow Leopard?

A day or two ago I responded to the Software Update prompt for the latest versions of both iPhoto and iTunes, but now my iPhoto won't even launch. Should I re-install iPhoto and start all over again? How do I do that if App store already says that I can't re-install something that's installed?

To re-install iPhoto follow these instructions.

1. In the Finder, choose Applications from Go menu.
2. Drag the application you are having issues with to the Trash.
3. Insert your iLife installation disc and install only the iLife application you previously dragged to the Trash. (You can select and install individual applications by clicking the Customize option under Installation Type).
4. When finished, use choose Software Update from the Apple () menu to update your software to the latest version.

Thank you for responding so quickly to my questions. However, I got iPhoto 9.2.2 through the App store, not from the hard disk.

Open Mac App Store.
Hold Option key and click on “Purchases”.
Option-click on “IPhoto” from the purchased app list.
“Installed’ should now say “Install” allowing you to re-download iPhoto, or try Option-click again on the “Install” button to start re-downloading iPhoto.

I recently bought the disc for Snow Leopard & installed it on my MacBook Pro; when my iphoto failed to work properly, I dragged the old iphoto app to my trash, inserted my only iphoto disc (from '06 iLife) & using the "customize" button, installed it; then did a software update. Now the iphoto won't even turn on. The message says I recently made changes to my iphoto library using a newer version of iphoto; please quit and use the latest version; well the latest version requires higher than 10.6.8, which is what my laptop currently shows.
I can't seem to get the '09 version; does anybody have any ideas?
