This is an absolute bargain! I just wish I hadn't purchased a few elements of the bundle already at full price!
 
What a ripoff!

Why would anyone want to buy all this crap software?

Just save your money for the next android phone... sure to be a game changer.
 
Worth the price for VMware alone ... too bad I've already got it. No interest in any of the other stuff except maybe for PDFpen, but not at $59 or even $49.

Got it via the referrer link, it's nice to help out a site I enjoy so much while getting some good bargains. The way I see it, it's basically paying for VMWare Fusion and getting a heap of other apps thrown in for free :)
 
VMware or Parallels

What's better, VMware or Parallels?

I'm running Parallels 5 (in order to access my Bootcamp-Vista) and since I upgraded to OSX Lion it isn't working anymore.

Just search for vmware parallels in the search bar. There are plenty of threads for it to date.

That aside, demos are available for both. Try downloading them and trying them out.
 
Using trial, might buy.

Tried Boom. Don't like it. My headphones and sound system can go too loud anyway. Putting the volume over 100% is just asking for static noise. It's not like iTunes supports FLAC :p

Tried Desktop Shelves 2 - Don't like it, RAM hog and kinda chunky animation. Didn't speed up my workflow at all since I already use hot keys etc.

Typinator was alright. I like the auto correct quite a bit and I could see if having future uses maybe.

Forklift - great love it

PDFpen - don't like it. Had a crash on a tiny action. Can't save websites which you need to log in to view content to a pdf. Only saves the log in screen which is a no go for me because i have no other use for it otherwise lol. Also felt a bit clunky and bloated.

not testing VM because i dont have windows.

VM is more profesional. On a performance base I am not too sure if VM wins or both are even.

After testing everything that interested me. The only thing I liked out of the lot was forklift and that is $30 alone so.. Hopefully I can get it on the Appstore for future updates :)
 
Grabbed Parallels 6 back in the last Nova bundle and recently paid cheaply for an upgrade to 7. I think VMware Fusion has been taking a significant hit since numerous reviews showing it trailing behind Parallels performance in a big way, so I think they've finally caved in to recoup lost sales.

I've played with Boom on my friend's MacBook Air and it really cranks up the sound. We can watch movies and hear things in a crowded room much better than the Air's native maximum volume. I highly recommend that app.
 
Well, my trial of Fusion ends any day now - so I guess this is perfect timing for me!

No clue if I *need* any of the other stuff, but if I was planning on spending the $50 anyway - why not do this AND support MR?! Win Win!!
 
Unless you're into games, you're essentially paying 49,99$ for VMWare Fusion 4. Which frankly is 49,99$ more than you should be paying for virtualization. Oracle's free Virtual Box products supports all the same major features (3D/2D acceleration, hardware virtualization through VT-x, resizable storage, remote access to VM consoles through VRDP, Seemless mode, auto-resize mode, etc... etc...).
 
i can put my money on bet that 99% of population here have some cracked software or ilegal copy of some program that you use on daily base..

Personally, I think that both packages will run the OS's very well. It really depends on how much RAM and CPU time you give the machine.

I'm running Parallells 7 and I use it to run Windows Seven and several Linux distributions. I give Windows 6GB of RAM and four cores (out of 16GB and 8 cores) and it runs it like it's the host OS, very smooth and responsive.

I've used VMWare to run Windows on Windows, and performance has been pretty good (was at college so didn't get to see settings (college machines have Core 2 Quads, 4GB RAM)).
