Excellent screen - no yellowness; small illumination variance has gone away

I thought I read here somewhere that the "date decoders" for the iPad 3 are no longer valid? Has that been determined to be incorrect?

To be picky I'd say the lower portion of the screen is slightly darker.

Also OOB had a couple of tiny scratches near the sim slot.

Overall I'm very happy.

What type of immulation issue did you have?

With so few people having issues, narrowing this down to 1 week production will be difficult.

little yellow bleed, but the screen itself is white.

4G version. No major screen issues. 1/2" light leak on one long side. Doesn't really bother as it's only slightly apparently when watching a letterbox video at 3/4 to full brightness which I doubt I'd ever do.

This is what I tried to address before launch. You CAN NOT find the source of the screen issue by finding some link between manufacture date etc.BESIDES arent people saying that the yellow screen issue is going away with time???

Early on I noticed a somewhat dimmer top right corner (landscape) especially noticeable on a more monotone page (white & gray); I can't replicate it currently. Maybe a "just noticeabe difference" and I habituated to it.

Pixels dead on one spot, if the pixels are not visible from 10 inches then I have a few dead pixels at one spot one next to another, this is visible from any distance

I noticed on white websites like Mac rumors the middle of the screen is white but the top and bottom are a bit more grey (portrait mode). For example, while scrolling in a thread the middle of the screen produce the best picture, if I'm looking at a post and then scroll that post up to read the next one it starts to dim a bit the further it goes up. Is like what you have?

Same exact thing with mine. I actually ordered two iPad 3s (one of which I'm returning since I don't need it) and the other iPad had a much yellower screen, significantly worse backlight bleeding, and the same slight-darkness-in-the-lower-portion issue. I was a little surprised to see so much difference between the two since all of the displays at this point are made by Samsung.

Anyway, here's the info on the one I'm keeping -- I might try to swap it once some iPads with Sharp displays get into the pipeline:

You didn't ask me, but I'll answer anyway...yes, mine is pretty much like this with the bottom being a tad bit darker. Of course, the dimness moves depending on the angle at which you hold the iPad so I think it's just somewhat inherent to the backlighting and screen technologies.

My screen has blue at the bottom and red/pink at the top. Going back tomorrow. Reading Kindle is very distracting.
