Safari: Why Can't I Clear Cache Without Clearing Cookies?

I hate having to re-enter site logins and passwords every time I clear the website cache in Safari.
Why did Apple change it to only cleaning cache and cookies together? :confused:

I don't think you can clear the cache any more. Unless "Clear History" does it.

The button you're talking about, "Clear Cookies and Data", only clears cookies and HTML5 offline data storage.
