Incipio Feather Case + Smart Cover + Incase Origami Sleeve Review (w/Pics)

So this thread will focus more on the Incipio Feather Case and Smart Cover, and touch base a little with the Incase Origami Sleeve.

So its here my Incipio Feather Case (Frost), this cover comes in various solid colors but I wanted it to be clear so that if I decide to add vinyls to the back it can be seen.

Simple packaging:




Contents, Case, Microfiber clothing (w/ embossed Incipio logo), Screen Protector, and Smoothie application card:


Installed, It has a very nice texture on it. It is not just smooth clear plastic. I dont see this slipping out of my hands any time soon.:


Incipio claims it adds 1mm thickness to the iPad, I don't have any way to prove it but its pretty damn thin. A great addition for anyone who is interested in just using a smart cover.



Iv'e seen other covers that work in conjunction to Apple's Smart Cover, and on the side of the cover that would normally be next to the smart cover magnetic hinge, is just a giant cut out.

This does not have that. It actually covers the smart cover hinge. (I'm not going to test this theory but it may be possible to hold the smart cover alone and it may not fall out like it would alone. Feel free to try this yourself and let me know )

It is very snug to put the ipad in with the smart cover + Incipio case because it has to much grip. But I still will be putting it in the origami for that cushioned protection for drops or putting it in a bag for transportation.

Overall, the Incipio back case for the 3rd Gen. iPad is amazing I would highly recommend anyone to pick one up if they are looking for a thin, simple, as naked as possible look for your iPad with full protection, Bonus points for having a screen protector that I wont be using haha, the Retina is to beautiful for that.

All corners of the ipad are covered, If was to set it on its bottom or its top or its side, they will touch the surface first before the actual iPad, notebook style as in using the smart cover? Yes it works perfectly.

Im replying on my iPhone so it's hard to quote you guys but here's my best to answer,

I bought my incase cover from www.GoIncase.com

I believe I have the sleeve for the first gen iPad, with just the 3rd gen iPad alone it fits like a glove, with the smart cover it's slightly snug, with the smart cover plus incipio backing its pretty snug but still works, the upper flap still closes.

As for viewing the iPad with the incipio case and smart cover it still works perfect.

Also works well with the origami sleeve.

It is not 100% like clear plastic, it is well I don't know how to put it, "frosty" lol

I just ordered the black leather smart case and frost smart feather from MacMall. The smart cover should be here by the end of the week. Not sure when the smart feather will come since it is currently out of stock. This mini review really makes me excited that I got this combination. BTW, a leather Origami would really be the cat's meow for me.

The leather would have sooooo many creases

Consider a scenario in which you drop your iPad, and the surface directly beneath is either not flat or has an edge, such as the edge of a table top. Then the iPad would either hit the corner of the back cover and then the edge of the table, or hit the table first, and then land on the ground.

I would rather have a back cover that covered all the iPad's edges.

Yes that is worst case scenario. But if it slipped from your hand as if you're reading a book, it would hit the corners first.

It is snug, you do have to push it in with some force but it fits and holds well. I think only children will have problems putting the iPad in the sleeve lol
