iPhone Forgets my number

For some reason my phone keeps forgetting my number. It started happening a couple days ago. It only happens when I go to send a imessage. I get a message to go to setting and enter my number. I click on it and have to input my number.

I tried searching and had no luck. Anyone else have this happening or have any suggestions on how to fix this issue.

I have a 4s running 5.1

I'm also getting this error. Same thing, I go to reply to an iMessage and I get the prompt that I need to enter in my phone number.

bump still having this issue weeks later. Anyone have a solution?

Try this.
Turn iMessage off. Then turn it back on.
You might have to reverify your number after.
See how that works.

Also, make sure in Messages (settings) you have it set to receive messages at your phone number. I have mine set to my phone and also my apple ID.
Works great.
