Running in JB 5.0.1 and I'm annoyed by all these red badge icons over the app store and other apps. Is there a tweak that handles this? I know there are a few for the setting badge but is there one for all badges in general?

Those are for specific things and don't include app badges.
"No badges" is what you want.
I use "BadgeClear". To use it, you put the app icons into "wiggle" mode and then double tap the app whose badge you'd like to clear. It does cost money, but it's cheap and I think very worth it. It is nice if you want to keep badges on certain apps (ie messages, phone, etc), but clear the badges on others.
