If he asked my advice, I would ask him, whether he recently found himself forced to re-pair his phone and car. Could it be that he was subject to a classic Man-in-the-Middle Attack, when last pairing his phone to his car (my guess his Maybach) via Bluetooth?

If you had tied an interest in journalism to a likely liberal slant, I would have followed you on that. But then, I assume that MacRumours' readers are a very representative sample of the population, perhaps not across the entire socio-economic spectrum.
