navigate ipod (4g click-wheel mono-chrome) without display

Hello Guys and girls ofcourse.

Sorry to distrub you here but I have one important question, well for me it is important. I got a good working Ipod 4g click-wheel monochrome.
But the display got broken. oke I can fix the display, but at the moment I don't have the cash and my problem is far more easily fixed than that.
We'll thats what I hope anyway. I need for now is to get the thing on shuffle mode. But without display I can't navigate it.

So If anyone has an Idea?
like a perfect step by step which buttons to press from startup.
and please keep in mind I don't see it startup either..
So a series of buttons to press to get to a initial point would be even greater than a new start-up
Also please keep in mind, I can hardly hear the click wheel either, so this makes getting lost in the menu very easy...

Or a way to navigate the menu from a pc would be extremely helpfull!!!

well anything that could be helpfull would be great.
