I have the R1 DVD of the movie 'Traffic', i'm trying to rip it to watch on my iPad and Apple TV. There are quite a few forced subtitle scenes in it due to the Spanish language parts.

Im trying to burn the forced english subs in but handbrake (0.96) won't cooperate. When i play the disc in VLC it shows it as using the 'Spanish' subs track as containing the forced english subs, however when i try to encode a chapter i know that should contain these subs, nothing appears. I have the 'Burned in' option in handbrake checked, i have tried it with 'Forced Only' both ticked and unticked. Anyone else been able to rip this disc with forced english subs?

It shows, 2 english sub tracks, 1 french and 1 spanish.

I would have assumed initially it was one of the english ones, but neither seems to give me anything.

try selecting the first english track "0 - English" and check only the "Burned In" option.

this worked for me for the spanish language parts in the movie Traffic.
